Phi Beta Sigma Fraternity, Inc. was founded at Howard University in Washington, D.C., on January 9, 1914, by Honorable A. Langston Taylor, Honorable Leonard F. Morse, and Honorable Charles I. Brown. The fraternity was established upon the principles of Brotherhood, Scholarship, and Service and with a vision of being “a part of” the community rather than “apart from” it.
From its founding, Phi Beta Sigma has embraced service as a central part of its mission. That commitment is reflected in the fraternity’s enduring motto, “Culture for Service and Service for Humanity.”
Our Fraternity Network
Phi Beta Sigma Fraternity, Inc. advances its mission through an international network of regions, states, and chapters. Tau Upsilon Sigma proudly serves within that structure, carrying the Fraternity's mission into our local communities.
From International Brotherhood to Local Service
As a chapter of Phi Beta Sigma Fraternity, Inc., Tau Upsilon Sigma carries the Fraternity's principles of Brotherhood, Scholarship, and Service into the geographical area of Clay County, Florida and surrounding areas.
Through service, educational initiatives, social action, and fellowship, we work locally to advance Phi Beta Sigma's mission while addressing the needs of the communities we serve.
